This project was realized following the in-depth study of poche and its use in developing architecture. The precedent for this building was Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. I took the overall shape of the mansion’s envelope and poched it using the step by step process that was established in “The Poche Game”. The goal was to create a building that could serve as a university club for UCLA & USC. This presented a challenge due to the rivalry between the two institutions. It also made a good prompt for “The Poche Game” that I centered my graduate thesis around as it required dueling hierarchies of spacial division. The building needed to serve the two institutions equally without compromising grandeur or functionality.
